Thompson, Henry and Meyer Represent Football at Senior All-Star Games

WILMINGTON, Ohio - Three Wilmington College football seniors - David Henry, PJ Meyer and C.J. Thompson - competed in All-Star games for NCAA Division III seniors earlier this month.

Henry and Meyer were members of the Blue Team at the National Bowl in Daytona Beach, Florida, while Thompson was a member of the North Team in the D-III Senior Classic held in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

"The chance to play one more game against some of the best players in the country is a unique experience," Head Football Coach Bryan Moore said. "It certainly isn't an opportunity every senior has the opportunity to experience. These three guys did it the old fashioned way, they worked. Each one of these kids is a unique story and they earned their opportunity."

The National Bowl is an annual post-season college football all-star game consisting of top players from non-FBS schools. The National Bowl showcases All-American and All Conference seniors from around the nation that travel to the game from over 30 states representing over 400+ Division II, Division III and NAIA schools. The National Bowl is the elite and only current post-season all-star game to focus on players below D1/FBS/FCS that get the opportunity to play in front of many NFL and CFL scouts and consistently gets 12 - 15 NFL Teams in attendance.

The D-III Senior Classic is contest that gives the chance for Division III football student-athletes to put their talents on display in front of professional scouts from all levels of post-collegiate football.

Henry, a Second Team All-Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) selection, finished his senior season with 53 tackles including eight for loss, three sacks and two forced fumbles. The Wilmington, Ohio, native finished his career with over 200 tackles and a dozen sacks. He was recently named a First Team Academic All-American for the second consecutive year.

Meyer, also a Second Team All-OAC honoree, finished the year with 712 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns. Thompson garnered Honorable Mention All-OAC recognition for his 75 tackles and two-and-a-half sacks.

Wilmington finished its 2017 season with a 2-8 record, marking the program's best season since the 2008 campaign.
