The Wilmington College football team will face its stoutest test of the season as No. 2 Mount Union strolls into Williams Stadium 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Creditt, where Creditt is due

Senior Luke Creditt has thrown for 17 touchdowns through six games. He came into the season with 15 touchdown passes in two seasons.  

He is completing 61.4 percent (94-of-153) of his passes for 1,331 yards, 17 scores and six interceptions. His 312 yards rushing are second on the team. 

Creditt is now sixth all-time with 4,396 yards and 32 touchdowns. 

The Man in Ameer

Sophomore Ameer Jackson is starting to make the impact the coaching staff felt he could in the beginning of the season. After suffering an injury one quarter into the season opener, Jackson is learning to play with his injury. He hauled in a career-high 162 yards on 10 receptions in the loss to Marietta. In the last two games, Jackson has 18 catches for 252 yards.  

A Prince, not a pauper

Senior defensive end Ryan Prince is also having a career year for the Fightin' Quakers. A season after picking up eight tackles for loss, he already has seven this year. Prince's tackles for loss are fourth in the Ohio Athletic Conference. His five sacks this season are more than his career total coming into the season. 

Scoring Acumen

The Wilmington offense has improved greatly with head coach Bryan Moore at the helm. The Fightin' Quakers have scored 181 points. It marks more points than the team has scored total in any of the last six seasons. 

By the Numbers

55.4 - Kicker Joshua Chua, after just his second collegiate game, is averaged 55.4 yards on his kickoffs. It's a 20-yard improvement from the team's season average. 

1 - It may have taken six games, but  freshman Tre'Quez Parks hauled in Wilmington's first interception of the season.

141 - Senior Eric Flynn, Jr. is third in the league in all-purpose yards, averaging 141.5 yards per game. He has rushed for 422 yards, gained 293 yards on returns and hauled in 134 receiving yards. 

9 - Wilmington is near the bottom, ranking ninth, in total punts with just 20 attempts on the season. 

Scouting the Purple Raiders

The Mount Union Purple Raiders, ranked second nationally, comes into today's game with sole possession of the Ohio Athletic Conference. 

Sophomore quarterback D'Angelo Fulford leads the nation's best offense as the Purple Raiders are scoring 60.0 points per game, more than a touchdown greater than the country's second-best offense. 

Fulford is second nationally, completing 72.5 percent of his passes for for 1,486 yards and a league-high 23 touchdowns. 

The Purple Raiders aren't a one-dimensional offense as they also lead the OAC with an average of 269.7 rushing yards. They have two of the OAC's top 10 running backs in Jawanza Evans-Morris (79.3 ypg) and Josh Petruccelli (66.7 ypg). The duo are the top two rushers in yards per attempt with 7.9 and 7.8 yards, respectively. 

Receivers, senior Jared Ruth and sophomore Justin Hill, are 1-2 in the OAC with nine and eight touchdown receptions, respectively. Hill is averaging 82.8 yards per contest and Ruth is adding 76.3 yards. 

Not only is the Mount Union offense the best in Division III, its defense isn't taking a back seat. 

The Purple Raiders are surrendering 7.5 points per game, good for second nationally. Two teams, Capital and Ohio Northern, have scored 14 points against Mount Union. 

Senior linebacker Charlie Dear is the team leader with 38 tackles, while junior linebacker is second with 30 tackles. 

Senior Elijah Berry leads the team with 3.5 sacks, while junior Michael Vidal is second with 2.5 sacks. Junior Trevor Cox has three interceptions to lead Mount Union.
