Volleyball Defeated at Muskingum in Straight-Set Matches

NEW CONCORD, Ohio - The Wilmington College volleyball team fell in a pair of Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) matches to Muskingum University on Tuesday evening. The Fighting Muskies took match one 3-0 (25-14, 25-14, 25-15) and won the nightcap (25-7, 25-9, 25-18).

In match one, The Quakers did not hit a positive attack percentage in any set. Sofia Thomas led the way offensively with six kills to go along with six assists whiel Rachel Kennedy put down four balls. McKenzie Stringer dished out a team-high seven assists while Karley Schlensker tallied 19 of the team's 51 digs.

Muskingum utilized a balanced offensive attack as five Muskies, led by Emma Dunham's eight kills, tallied at least five kills. Emma Conrad and Erin Dickson split the setting duties as the duo combined to dish out 29 assists.

In match two, Kennedy led the Quakers with seven kills and a .250 attack percentage. Stringer and Thomas combined to assist on all 19 of Wilmington's kills while Blake O'Brien had 13 digs in the back row. Khloe Taylor added 10 kills for the Muskies while Brooke Fatheree had 10 digs.

Wilmington (0-4) hosts the University of Mount Union for the home-opener on Friday evening.
