AUSTINTOWN – Wilmington College junior Lauren Stacy has been named Ohio Athletic Conference women's field athlete of the week, the league announced today (January 30, 2017).
Stacy (Bethel, OH/Western Brown) placed first in the shot put (12.96 meters) and weight throw (16.59 meters) at the Cedarville University Invitational. The toss in the weight throw was a personal best for the junior.
"Lauren had a great meet at Cedarville last Friday," said Wilmington head coach Ron Combs. "She has worked really hard and been incredibly consistent in both the shot and the weight all season."
She is currently ranked 19th nationally in the shot put and 15th in the weight throw.
It's the second time in her career Stacy has earned the league's weekly honor, and the first athlete since Marissa Bolen earned the honor in April 2016.
Wilmington returns to action February 11 at the Indoor All-Ohio meet at Otterbein University.
