WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College women's basketball team continues its 2020-21 season with a pair of Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) games against Otterbein University this weekend.

The Schedule: The Fightin' Quakers will travel to the Rike Center for a 7 p.m. contest on Friday before the two teams head to Fred Raizk Arena for a 6 p.m. game on Saturday.

The Teams: Wilmington and Otterbein. The Quakers enter the matchup with an even 4-4 record having won every game on Friday and fallen each contest on Saturday. Most recently, Wilmington won at Ban Johnson Arena and fell to Marietta at home. The Cardinals are 5-3 and coming off a sweep of Muskingum University.

The Coaches: Wilmington's interim head coach for the season, has been the program's top assistant coach for the last two years. She's also no stranger to the OAC, having graduated from Otterbein University and assisted at the University of Mount Union, as well as being familiar with an interim role having held that title at Earlham College. Diana Noles is in her second season as Otterbein's head coach. The 2004 alumna previously spent seven seasons as the program's top assistant coach.

The Players: McKayla Binkley, the OAC's leading scorer a season ago, leads Wilmington in scoring (17.0 points per game) and rebounding (6.4 boards per contest) while sister Hannah Binkley, Zahrya Bailey and Kennedy Lewis all score between 8.5-9.5 points per game. Lewis and Bailey combine to dish out over six assists per game. A quartet of Cardinals – Katie McCrary, Angelia Jackson, Abby Zerkle and Jenna Hoschouer – all score in double figures while Bryn Mangold grabs a team-best eight boards per game.

Tale of the Tape: Points per game – Wilmington 70.3, Otterbein 79.4; opponents' points per game – Wilmington 71.9, Otterbein 68.4; field goal percentage – Wilmington 39.7, Otterbein 44.0; three-point percentage – Wilmington 27.0, Otterbein 39.3; free throw percentage – Wilmington 63.5, Otterbein 72.3; rebounds per game – Wilmington 42.6, Otterbein 42.6; assist-to-turnover ratio – Wilmington 0.71, Otterbein 0.80.

1,000-Point Club: With a basket against Muskingum in late January, McKayla Binkley became the 14th member of Lady Quaker Basketball to eclipse the 1,000-point plateau for a career.

Coaching Connection: Janel Blankespoor and Diana Noles were teammates for a season (2003-04) at Ottebein under former head coach and current Senior Associate Director of Athletic Connie Richardson. Coincidentally, the two were on the last team to beat Wilmington before the Quakers won the national championship in 2004.

COVID-19 Precautions: The OAC Presidents made the difficult decision to not allow any fans at athletic contests until at least March 1.
