Campbell earns OAC Player of the Week, again

AUSTINTOWN – Sophomore Mackenzie Campbell has been named Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, for the week ending January 22, the league announced today (Monday, January 23, 2017).

"Mackenzie has been a consistent performer for our basketball team this season," said Wilmington College head coach Jerry Scheve. "Her performance this week, especially Saturday, personified her importance to our program. This honor was greatly deserved."

Campbell (Cincinnati, OH/Turpin) tallied a career-high 28 points in the 77-64 victory over the Heidelberg. In helping Wilmington to two road victories, Campbell averaged 18.5 points, 7.5 rebounds with three assists, three blocks and two steals.

She became the first Ohio Athletic Conference women's basketball player to earn the league's weekly honor twice this season. It marks the third time in her career she has picked up the award.

Wilmington (12-5 overall, 8-2 OAC) hosts league-leading, and nationally ranked, Ohio Northern 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
