Wabash men's win Great Lakes Regionals

MASON, OH – Mount Union senior Dan McGeary and teammate junior Alex Wilson goes 1-2 at the NCAA Division III Men’s Cross Country Great Lakes Regionals, but it was Wabash University that claimed the 2014 NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional crown Saturday at the Golf Center at Kings Island.

Wabash finished with all five of its runners in the top 14 in running away with the regional championship scoring 46 points. Mount Union finished second with 135 points, followed by Rose-Hulman (148), Calvin (157) and John Carroll (214).

Rounding out the top 10 were Hope (219), Ohio Wesleyan (231), DePauw (260), Case Western Reserve (272) and Ohio Northern (290).

McGeary finished the 8K course in 24:22.0, while Wilson followed three seconds later with the time of 24:25.8. Oberlin junior Geno Arthur finished third with the time of 24:29.3, while Ohio Wesleyan freshman John Sotos (24:39.9) and Wabash senior Nick Boyce (24:41.2) rounded out the top five.

Wabash junior Adam Togami finished sixth with 23:41.9, and rounding out the Little Giants scoring were junior Fabian House (ninth, 24:45.1), senior Jared Burris (12th, 24:46.5) and sophomore Mason McKinney (24:52.6).

The rest of the top 10 were Ohio Northern senior Nathan Rosenbaum (seventh, 24:43.3), Hope junior Ben Zank (eighth, 24:44.1) and John Carroll senior Tadhg Zarski (10th, 24:45.6).
