19 earn Academic All-OAC

AUSTINTOWN – Nineteen Wilmington College student-athletes, led by the women’s soccer program, earned Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference, the league announced.

The student-athletes must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, maintain varsity status, and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Women’s soccer had a school-high five players earn the award. Sophomore Taylor Scott (Lynchburg, OH/Lynchburg Clay; 3.92, Psychology) led the team with a 3.92 GPA. Seniors Lauren Hamrock (Beavercreek, OH/Beavercreek; 3.74, Biology), Camille Gentile (Brownsburg, IN/Brownsburg; 3.50, Biology), Angela Phillips (Union, OH/Northmont; 3.68, Education) and Caroline Guindon (Barnesville, OH/St. Clairsville; 3.67, Athletic Training) were all on the list.

Volleyball and cross county both had four student-athletes on the list.

Senior Tricia Steffen (Baltimore, OH/Liberty Union; 3.93, Sports Management) led the cross country team, followed by junior Mary Krebs (Kettering, OH/Alter; 3.91, Education), senior Sarah Murphy (West Liberty, OH/West Liberty Salem; 3.78, Biology) and sophomore Stephanie Fetters (West Milton, OH/Milton Union; 3.50, Agriculture).

With a 3.94 GPA, sophomore Caitlin Pauley (Kenton, OH/Riverdale; Agriculture) is tops on the volleyball team. Senior Emily Regan (Columbus, OH/Briggs; 3.89, Education), sophomore Noel Cain (Dayton, OH/Archbishop Carroll; 3.74, Athletic Training) and senior Tabby Biegler (Columbus, OH/Briggs; 3.63, Sport Management) round out the volleyball contingent.

Football, men’s soccer and men’s cross country all had two student-athletes honored.

Sophomore Tommy Fox (Bremen, OH/Faifield Union; 3.74, Agriculture) and senior Scott Duncan (Liberty Township, OH/Lakota East; 3.54, Business/Communications) represent football, while senior Brad Hamilton (Ripley, OH/Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington; 3.62, Athletic Training) and junior Dominic King (Bettsville, OH/Bettsville; 3.54, Sport Management) represent the men’s cross country team.

Sophomores Sam Bickel (Bremen, IN/Bremen; 3.96, Agriculture) and Aaron Basford (Monroe, OH/Monroe; 3.76, Criminal Justice) are the men’s soccer representatives.
