WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College equestiran team will send three riders to compete at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Nationals held in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania from May 5-8.
Ciara Lawson, showing in the Open Division, Ashley Howard, showing in the Rookie Division, and Brooke Pitts, showing in the Level 1 Division, will represent the Fightin' Quakers. The trio was recognized by Wilmington President, Dr. Trevor Bates, and Provost, Dr. Erika Goodwin at the Board of Trustees meeting in late April.
Lawson is scheduled to ride on Friday with Howard and Pitts slated for a Sunday show.
It is believed that only two prior Wilmington riders have ever qualified for the nationals. Lawson, Howard and Pitts are the first Quakers to advance to that stage in over a decade.
