CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY – The Wilmington College baseball team allowed 15 unanswered runs in falling to Thomas More, 15-4, in non-conference action Tuesday at Thomas More Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Thomas More scored at least one run in its last five at-bats, including a seven-spot in the seventh inning.
• Wilmington took an early lead with a four-run first inning. Sophomore Jake Hyatt (Madeira, OH/Madeira) opened the scoring with a two-run, one-out double. Two more runs crossed the plate on a two-run error.
• Hyatt finished with a pair of doubles in four at-bats with two RBI.
• Junior Joshua Chua (Lancaster, England/Claremont [CA]) had a first-inning walk to extend his on-base streak to 14 games. It was just the second time this season Chua did not record a hit.
• Freshman Nick Silvis (Beavercreek, OH/Indian Lake) and sophomore Antonio Miller (Cincinnati, OH/Northwest) each had two hits for Wilmington. It was the fifth multi-hit game for Silvis, and the first multi-hit game of the season for Miller.
• Fightin' Quaker pitching yielded 24 hits in eight innings, including six extra-base knocks.
• Sophomore Joey Hollback, 0-3, (Salem, OH/Sebring McKinney) took the loss in relief. He allowed two earned runs on five hits in 2/3 of an inning.
• Freshman Lance Fleishman (Milford, OH/Milford) made his first career start, yielding three earned runs on seven hits in 3 1/3 innings with three strikeouts.
• After surrendering 31 stolen bases in a three-game series against Earlham, sophomore Jarett Trautman (Hartville, OH/Field) made his first start of the season behind the plate, and limited the Saints to no stolen bases.

• "We need for our relief pitchers to throw the ball better and keep in down," said Wilmington head coach Dan Cleaver.
• Cleaver also commended the play of Trautman in holding the Thomas More running game at bay.
