@DubC_Baseball commits five errors in loss

FRANKLIN, IN – The Wilmington College baseball team committed five errors and fell to Franklin Saturday in non-conference action, 9-1, at JP McDowell Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Wilmington scored its only run of the game as freshman Kasey Bottorff (Columbus, OH/Hamilton Twp.), who reached on an error, scored on another error.
  • Sophomore Jared Ferenchak, 1-1, (Concord, OH/Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) absorbed the loss. He surrendered four earned runs in 5 1/3 innings with three strikeouts.
  • The Grizzlies took the lead with three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, and gave themselves some cushion with five runs in the seventh inning.
  • Freshman Nick Silvis (Beavercreek, OH/Indian Lake) was had a hit in his only official at-bat. He had two sacrifices and one walk.
  • Junior Joshua Chua (Lancaster, England/Claremont [CA]) had Wilmington's other hit.

Wilmington (2-4) remains in Franklin to play a non-conference doubleheader.
