With the allure of possibly winning over $100,000 and a brand new car, students capped Homecoming Day with a two-hour celebration for the beginning of basketball season.
While no one walked away with a bulk of money, there were some gift card winners and a lot of fun.
For the third straight year, junior Kevin Lewis claimed the Hermann Madness Slam Dunk Championship. In a battle with sophomore Payton Smith, the contest came down to an extra session. With Smith dunking over a trio of students, Lewis took went Michael Jackson, and going Off The Wall. His lob off the banner-lined wall, landed back to the middle of paint - Lewis caught the self pass and slammed it home. His spectacular dunk sent the crowd in a frenzy and effectively ended the festivities.
