MARIETTA – The Wilmington College volleyball team opened Ohio Athletic Conference play with a straight sets loss, 25-17, 25-21, 25-22, at Ban Johnson Arena.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Junior Catlin Pauley (Kenton, OH/Riverdale) finished with a team-high eight kills on 25 attempts with just three errors. She added five digs.
- Freshman Rheanna McClain (Columbus, OH/Hamilton Township) added seven kills on a team-high 34 attempts with four errors.
- Sophomore Becca Harting (Farmersville, OH/Valley View) had a team-high 12 digs. Sophomore Noel Cain (Dayton, OH/Archbishop Carroll) dished out a team-high 11 assists with 11 digs.
- Wilmington hit a game-high .121 (nine kills on 33 attempts with five errors) in the second of three sets.
Wilmington (0-14) hosts UC-Clermont 7 p.m. Wednesday in non-conference action in the team's JennaStrong game. Fans are encouraged to wear purple for WC's Epilepsy Awareness day.
