@DubC_Volleyball loses two

RICHMOND, IN – The Wilmington College volleyball team lost twice Sunday in the Earlham College Classic. Wilmington opened the day by falling to Berea, 3-1, and then lost to host-Earlham, 3-0.

Wilmington lost the first match to the Mountaineers, 25-18, 21-25, 25-20, 25-19.

Junior Catlin Pauley (Kenton, OH/Riverdale) finished with a team-high 17 kills on 42 attempts with 14 digs. Sophomore Kennedy Harshaw (Xenia, OH/Xenia) added five kills on 41 attempts with 13 digs.

Senior Ariana Neff (Naples, FL/Gulf Coast) led the team with 29 assists and 19 digs, while adding five kills on 13 attempts.

In a meeting of Quakers, WC came out on the short end, falling to Earlham in straight sets, 25-19, 25-23, 25-10.

Freshman Rheanna McClain (Columbus, OH/Hamilton Township) had her best offensive game of her career with nine kills on 18 attempts and just one error. Harshaw added seven kills on 37 attempts with eight errors and a team-high 10 digs.

Neff dished out 22 assists with eight digs, while adding two kills.

Wilmington (0-8) travels to Franklin 7 p.m. Tuesday.
