(BEREA, Ohio) – The Wilmington College wrestling team took on the top team in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) wrestling Tuesday night in the Baldwin Wallace University Yellow Jackets. The Quakers dropped the dual 50-0 and are now 1-7 overall in dual action this season and 1-5 in the OAC. Their final dual of the season comes next week against the University of Mount Union.

The first four weights included three forfeits for Wilmington and a double forfeit at the 133-pound weight class. Aaron Pardo was the first Quaker in action at 157 pounds against Justin Ritchie. He dropped the match via tech. fall in four minutes and 17 seconds.

The next match at 165 was a loss by fall for Garrett Simmons before Alexander Ruth nearly took Carter Lloyd the distance at 174 pounds but would ultimately lose by fall at 5:13. The 184-pound weight class was a forfeit for Wilmington.

Caleb Tackett wrestled the Yellow Jackets Luke Hopkins at 197 pounds. Tackett had a pair of reversals and a penalty point in the first period to combat a Hopkins takedown and reversal, taking it to the second period at 5-5. The second period had less action, with Hopkins taking a narrow 7-6 lead into the final period. Tackett used an escape after starting bottom in the third period to tie the match at 7-7. However, a takedown for Hopkins and the riding time point gave him an 11-7 decision victory.

The Quakers forfeited the 285-pound weight class to conclude the dual.
