(ANGOLA, Ind.) – The Wilmington College wrestling team opened their 2023-24 season today at the Trine Invitational, hosted by Trine University. A trio of wrestlers competed for the Quakers in Michael Louison, Alexander Ruth, and Cooper Rack. This was the collegiate debut for both Louison and Rack.

Louison competed in the 141-pound weight class and received a bye in the first round. He was then beaten via technical fall by both Dakota Quinlan of Alma College and Peyton Frederick of Rochester University.

Both Ruth and Rack competed for the Quakers at 165. Ruth dropped his first match by technical fall to Muskegon's Gary Johnson III before being pinned by Olivet's Gabriel Guerrero to end his day.

Rack also received a bye to the second round where he met Heidelberg University's Carson Pottenger, who he was pinned by before Baldwin Wallace University's Donovan Palmer also beat him via fall.
