ADA, Ohio – Seth Jermer finished fifth place in the 285-pound weight class to highlight the Wilmington College wrestling team's performance at the Ohio Northern Invitational at King Horn Sports Center on Saturday.

Jermer started the day with a win by forfeit over Adrian College and would follow that up with back-to-back wins over Miles Daniels of Defiance College (Fall 2:33) and Steve Longazel from Lycoming College (Fall 2:03). After starting his day 3-0, Wilmington's heavyweight lost his next two by fall. The first came at the hands of Lycoming's second big man, Nicholas Winfield (Fall 3:46) and the second would come at the hand of OAC conference foe Eric Adkins of Heidelberg University (Fall 1:20). Immediately following, Jermer would win the fifth place match by no contest over Chris Martinez, another OAC foe, from Otterbein University.

Wilmington also gained 3.5 points from Clayton Schirmer who competed in the 157-pound weight class.  Schirmer won two of his four matches beating Eric Fomekong of Mount St. Joseph University by decision 6-3, and Josiah McClarren of Lycoming by fall in 1:13.

As a team, the Quakers finished 13th of out 13 teams at the tournament.

Wilmington will return to action two weeks from today as it heads South to Nashville, Tennessee, for the Gator Boots Duals being held at McGavok High School at 8 a.m.
