Wilmington College Alumni Cyrus Joins Cross Country and Track & Field Coaching Staff

WILMINGTON, Ohio -  Wilmington College Head Cross Country Coach Ron Combs and Head Track & Field Coach Tristan Durr have announced the hiring of Josh Cyrus to their coaching staff.

Cyrus will serve as the assistant men's and women's cross country and track & field coach.

"It's exciting to add another position to the staff and it is even better that we add a strong leader like Josh," commented Combs. "He has been a strong leader and presence on our teams as a student athlete and I think he will do a great job with our programs moving forward."

Cyrus comes back to Wilmington after graduating from the alma-mater in 2022 with a degree in Excercise Science. He is currently attending graduate school while taking on the role with the team. . A former four-year runner under the direction of Combs, Cyrus was a top runner and leader over the course of his collegiate career. He finshed his time at Wilmington as a nine-time Academic All-OAC honoree as well as a 66th place finsh at the Ohio Atheltic Conference Championships in his final season.    

"I am excited to bring the energy I had as athlete to this team and program," said Cyrus. "I look forward to everything this team has in store for this next season and beyond."

The Quakers open up the season in Shelbysville, Ohio on September 2nd.
