Worman named @DubC_Football OC

Wilmington College head football coach Stacey Hairston has announced the hiring of Rick Worman as the school's new offensive coordinator, effective today (Monday, February 1, 2016).

"I am very happy to be adding Rick Worman to our coaching staff," said Wilmington head coach Stacey Hairston. "Rick has tremendous experience as an offensive coach, evaluator of talent, and as a former CFL quarterback. He is a proven leader who is passionate about football and developing young men. He has coached at all levels of football spanning from the pros to college. He brings a wealth of knowledge from his experiences in the CFL, AFL2, FXFL, and his many stops at the college level. We are excited to have Rick join our program!"

Worman comes to Wilmington after serving as the head coach of the FXFL's Mahoning Valley Brawlers during their lone season (2015). He brings extensive professional experience, mostly in the Canadian Football League.

He started his coaching career as the offensive coordinator of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2001, and moved to the Edmonton Eskimos for seven years. After a brief hiatus, in which he was the offensive coordinator for the College of the Siskiyous, he returned for a two-year stint as the running back coach of the Hamilton Tiger Cats.

Worman moved to the college ranks as the associate head/quarterback coach at Mississippi Valley State for two years, and spent a year each at Missouri Western State University and Northern Arizona State University.

He takes over an offensive that was ranked eighth in total yards and 10th in the scoring last season.
