Maria Paparella recently completed her first year as an assistant women's soccer coach at Wilmington College in 2022.
Alongside Head Coach Nick Kinder, Paparella guided the Quakers to a 10-8-0 overall mark and a 4-5-0 record in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) games. Wilmington, which nealry overcame an 0-4-0 start to league play to make the OAC Tournament, had four individuals earn postseason conference awards including Co-Freshman of the Year and First Team selection Alex Wilson.
Paparella comes to Wilmington from Michigan's upper peninsula as she spent four years as a student at Northern Michigan University. During time at NMU, Paparella both played and coached the club team as well as serving as the president for the 2021-22 academic year. Having been involved with the club in some capacity since 2005, she coordinated and planned matches with other clubs, coordinated travel, organized practices and managed the team's budget.
Paparella graduated from Northern Michigan with a degree in business management. As part of her major, Paparella served as a market research intern for a startup company in Marquette, Michigan.
She resides in Wilmington.
