The Wilmington College men's basketball team came to an end Saturday with a 96-67 loss to Baldwin Wallace in Ohio Athletic Conference action at Fred Raizk Arena in Hermann Court.

It marked the final collegiate game for senior center Malcolm Pittman (Huber Heights, OH/Wayne), who scored a team-high 12 points in his only start. Pittman was 6-of-12 from the field with three rebounds and a steal.

"Pitt did a great job out there, and it was nice to see him score," said Wilmington head coach K.C. Hunt. "Malcolm has been a pillar to our program and the campus community. His involvement, campus-wide and with this team, has been awesome to team. I truly believe he will be a fantastic teacher and coach.

"Unfortunately, it's not the way we wanted to end the year," Hunt continued. "But this group has a chance to be special if they stay and put it together."

An early 18-2 run, in which Baldwin Wallace hit five straight shots, allowed the Yellow Jackets to open up a 13-point bulge. While Wilmington scored six straight to get within seven, it would be the last time the WC deficit was under double figures.

On the strength of 63 percent shooting (17-of-27) from the field, the visiting Yellow Jackets took a 20-point lead into the break.

The Wilmington deficit grew to as much as 35 in the second half.

Sophomore Will Patrick (Chester, PA/Pickerington Central [OH]) was the only other WC player in double figures with 11 points. Junior Christian Jones (Hamilton, OH/Hamilton) dished out a team-high three assists with eight points, while freshman Noah Chatman (Goodluttsville, TN/Beech) added nine points and three boards.

Wilmington finishes the season 9-16 overall, 4-14 in the OAC.
