WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's basketball team continues its 2020-21 season with a pair of games against Capital University this weekend.

The Schedule: Wilmington will travel to Bexley to face Capital at 7 p.m. on Friday and return to Fred Raizk Arena for the second game of the series on Saturday at 6 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Capital. The Fightin' Quakers are 1-3 overall after grinding out an 88-84 victory over Muskingum University at Hermann Court on Saturday. The Crusaders are also 1-3 on the young season, falling to Heidelberg University in a pair of contests last weekend.

The Coaches: K.C. Hunt is in his 14th season as head coach of Wilmington's men's basketball program. Hunt, who has coached two All-Americans and seven of the school's 1,000-point scorers, led the Quakers to OAC Tournament titles in 2010 and 2014. He garnered Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year honors for guiding Wilmington to OAC Tournament title and a win in the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2010. Damon Goodwin, the longest-tenured coach currently in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC), has led the Crusaders to over 400 wins since the 1994-95 season. Capital most recently qualified for the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2018-19.

The Players: Jeffery Mansfield, a First Team All-OAC selection a season ago, leads Wilmington in scoring (19.5 points per game) as well as helping his teammates score to the tune of 6.3 assists per game.  Bilal Sow, who poured in a career-high 20 points in the Quakers' win last Saturday, averages 10.8 points and 3.8 rebounds per game while Jackson Todd is the team's leading rebounder at 5.5 boards per contest. Carter Combs is the lone Crusader to score in double figures at 12.5 points per game while Griffin Doseck and Joe Hartmann both score over eight points per game and grab seven rebounds per contest.

Tale of the Tape: Points per game – Wilmington 75.8, Capital 61.0; opponents' points per game – Wilmington 82.8, Capital 69.5 field goal percentage – Wilmington 46.8, Capital 37.0; three-point percentage – Wilmington 36.2, Capital 32.5; free throw percentage – Wilmington 69.1, Capital 58.9; rebounds per game – Wilmington 30.5, Capital 36.8; assist-to-turnover ratio – Wilmington 1.33, Capital, 0.70.

Recent History: Wilmington is 16-30 against Capital since becoming an NCAA Division III member prior to the 1991 season. The Crusaders have won seven of the last 10 contests including both matchups last season. More information on the series history can be viewed by visiting the link above.

COVID-19 Precautions: The OAC Presidents made the difficult decision to not allow any fans at athletic contests until at least March 1.
