WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's basketball team continues its 2020-21 season with a pair of games against Muskingum University this weekend.

The Schedule: Wilmington will travel New Concord to face Muskingum at the Anne M. Steele Center on Friday at 7 p.m. while the Muskies will come to Fred Raizk Arena for a 6 p.m. contest on Saturday.

The Teams: Wilmington and Muskingum. The Fightin' Quakers are 0-2 on the season after a pair of close losses to Ohio Northern University (ONU) last weekend. The Fighting Muskies are 1-1 overall after winning and losing one close game each to Capital University.

The Coaches: K.C. Hunt is in his 14th season as head coach of Wilmington's men's basketball program. Hunt, who has coached two All-Americans and seven of the school's 1,000-point scorers, led the Quakers to OAC Tournament titles in 2010 and 2014. He garnered Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year honors for guiding Wilmington to OAC Tournament title and a win in the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2010. Travis Schwab, 1-of-2 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) student-athletes to earn First Team honors four consecutive seasons, has been Muskingum's head coach for the last six seasons.

The Players: Jeffery Mansfield, a First Team All-OAC selection a season ago, leads Wilmington in scoring (21.5 points per game) and rebounding (5.5 boards per contest) as well as helping his teammates score to the tune of seven assists per game. A trio of Quakers - Matt Smith, Bilal Sow and Hunter Ruckel - score between 8-9 points per game. Two Muskies - MJ Smith and Alex Masinelli - score in double figures with Smith's average just a shade below 20 points per game. Masinelli is the team's leading rebounder at eight boards per contest.

Tale of the Tape: Points per game – Wilmington 73.5, Muskingum 65.0; opponents' points per game – Wilmington 78.5, Muskingum 64.0 field goal percentage – Wilmington 44.4, Muskingum 41.3; three-point percentage – Wilmington 32.7, Muskingum 46.2; free throw percentage – Wilmington 64.3, Muskingum 64.7; rebounds per game – Wilmington 39.0, Muskingum 34.9; assist-to-turnover ratio – Wilmington 1.44, Muskingum, 0.90.

COVID-19 Precautions: The OAC Presidents made the difficult decision to not allow any fans at athletic contests until at least March 1.
