NAPERVILLE, IL – Just one week after only having four runner healthy enough to compete, the Wilmington College women's cross country team had five runners reach personal best times as the Quakers finished ninth of 17 teams at Benedictine College's Eagle Invite.

Junior Tricia Steffen (Baltimore, OH/Liberty Union) was the top Wilmington runner, finishing seventh with the time of 23:23.15. She was able to trim more than 50 seconds off of her previous best.

"She is starting to see that she can be one of the top runners in the OAC," said Combs. "She went out and did a fantastic job. The women as a whole, I was really excited. I felt really good (about the times). I am looking forward to our improvement week to week. "

Sophomore Mary Krebs (Kettering, OH/Archbishop Alter) was the next Wilmington runner to finish, placing 68th with the time of 26:08.12. Freshman Sidney DuBois (Blanchester, OH/Blanchester) was next, placing 78th in 26:29.65.

Rounding out the Wilmington scoring was junior Veronica Burnam (New Richmond, OH/New Richmond), 85th in 26:47.34 and junior Sarah Murphy (West Liberty, OH/West Liberty-Salem), 105th in 27:34.18.

Wilmington returns to the course Friday, hosting the 2013 #JennaStrong Fall Classic.
