Miller named to All-Tournament team

NORTH MANCHESTER, IN – The Wilmington College volleyball team dropped both games Saturday at the Manchester University Invitational. The Fightin' Quakers fell in straight sets to Denison (25-11, 26-24, 25-8), and then fell to host Manchester, 3-1 (25-11, 20-25, 25-21, 25-20).

Senior Ashley Miller (Arcanum, OH/Franklin Monroe) was named to the all-tournament team.

In the loss the Denison, Miller recorded five of Wilmington's 14 kills with five block solos and an assisted block. Sophomore Noel Cain (Dayton, OH/Archbishop Carroll) led the team with five assists, while junior Ariana Neff (Naples, FL/Gulf Coast) finished with four assists and nine digs. Junior Emily Oberschlake (West College Corner, IN/Union County) led the team with 10 digs.

Junior Tabby Biegler (Columbus, OH/Briggs) and Miller combined for 13 of the team's 27 kills as WC fell to the host Spartans. Miller added four blocks assists and a solo block. Neff distributed 13 assists. Three Wilmington players registered double-figure digs led by Oberschlake, who tallied 18. Senior Emily Regan (Columbus, OH/Briggs) and Biegler added 12 and 11 digs, respectively.

Wilmington (2-11) hosts Mount St. Joseph 7 p.m. Wednesday at Fred Raizk Arena.
