Bolen earns All-Ohio honors

DELAWARE – Sophomore Marissa Bolen was the lone Wilmington athlete to earn All-Ohio honors as the Wilmington College women's track & field team finished 17th at the 2014 All-Ohio championships at Ohio Wesleyan University.

Bolen (Gibsonburg, OH/Gibsonburg) placed third in the shot put (40-1.25), and then has a season-best mark in the discus (110-3) and a personal best mark (136-8) in the hammer.

Three other Wilmington athletes earned personal best marks Saturday.

"I am really happy with how today went for our team," said Wilmington head coach Ron Combs.  "I thought we had a lot of kids that competed really well with some stiff competition. For our second meet, I thought we made significant progress from last week."

Freshman Kourtney Kaemming (Defiance, OH/Tinora) set a personal best in the hammer (124'), while freshman Angela Dorsett (Pittsburgh, PA/West Mifflin) established a personal best in the triple jump (31-11.25).

Junior Tricia Steffen (Baltimore, OH/Liberty Union) placed eighth in a personal best time of 41:45.82 in the 10,000.

Wilmington returns to competition Friday at the Centre Invitational.
