Women's track performs well in field events

The Wilmington College women's track & field team scored well in the field events as the Fightin' Quakers finished fifth at the Cedarville Collegiate Invitational.

"I am really encouraged with tonight's results," said Wilmington head coach Ron Combs. "We didn't load up the meet at all and still were able to get second for the men and fifth for the women. At this point, we are working the athletes pretty hard building toward conference, but I am very encouraged with the results so far. The potential is there-it will be interesting to see where this group takes it."

Sophomore Jadie Riewoldt (Morrow, OH/Little Miami) brought home the lone women's victory, winning the high jump (4-11.50). Sophomore Kelsey Redway (Toledo, OH/Whitmer) added a fifth place finish in the high jump (4-07.50).

Sophomore Marissa Bolen (Gibsonburg, OH/Gibsonburg) finished second in the shot put (39-09.75) and fifth in the weight throw (41-05.75). Freshman Hannah Rolf (Springfield, OH/Northeastern) added a second place finish in the pole vault (10-00.00).

Junior Tricia Steffen (Baltimore, OH/Liberty Union) brought home fourth place finishes in the 800 (2:32.87) and the mile (5:28.64).

Wilmington returns to the track Saturday at the All-Ohio meet at Otterbein College.
