Women's Swimming third at OWU

DELAWARE, OH - The Wilmington College women's swimming team finished third of five teams in the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational.

"Both teams showed improvements," said head coach Trip Breen. "We showed mental and physical toughness to swim three sessions. We put together a nice meet. We saw some time drops across the board. There were a lot of in-season best swims. It showed really toughness to show up and swim fast for three sessions."

The pair of senior Liz Miller (Lebanon, OH/Lebanon) and junior Addie Roberts (Franklin, OH/Franklin) both swam under personal in-best bests in the mile. Breen qualified them as "two great efforts in the mile." Both swimmers completed the distance in under 20 minutes with Roberts finishing in 19:37.18 and Miller in 19:40.16.

Junior Caroline Kruczynski (Grove City, OH/Central Crossing) turned in a solid swim in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:19.72. Senior Lisa Fetters (Hamilton, OH/Badin) is starting to swim well, posting a time of 1:00.16 in the 100 freestyle and 27.01 in the 50 freestyle.

Freshman Elyse Spraul (Cincinnati, OH/Mount Notre Dame) had a "nice swim" in the 100 butterfly (1:09.70).

Wilmington returns to the pool at John Carroll on January 17, 2014.
