CHILLICOTHE – The Wilmington College women's soccer team ended the non-conference portion of their schedule with a 2-0 victory over Ohio Christian Saturday. It was the fourth consecutive shutout for the Fightin' Quakers.

"We played a lot of players today," said Wilmington head coach Steve Spirk. "We were very good defensively, again."

Spirk highlighted the play of sophomore Baylee Houck (Huber Heights, OH/Wayne), freshman Amy Johnson (Warsaw, OH/River View), freshman Alex Vestal (Orlanda, FL/Lake Nona) and freshman Haley Brausch (Clarksville, OH/Clinton-Massie) off the bench.

Four minutes into the game, senior Alyssa Reule (Miamisburg, OH/Miamisburg) scored off a corner kick by senior Taylor Scott (Lynchburg, OH/Lynchburg Clay). Sophomore Taylor Leake (Beavercreek, OH/Beavercreek) added an insurance goal late in the game, scoring on a free kick at the upper 90.

Junior Ana Hosler (Blanchester, OH/Blanchester) and freshman Leda Moyer (Martinsville, OH/Clinton Massie) combined for the Wilmington shutout.

Wilmington (5-1-2) travels to John Carroll 4 p.m. Saturday in the Ohio Athletic Conference opener for both teams.
