Despite dominating the play, a quick Franklin counter-attack provided the margin of victory as Wilmington had its four-game winning streak snapped with a 2-1 loss to the Grizzlies in non-conference action at Charlie Gilhart Field.

Wilmington had numerous opportunities with loose balls in the box, but couldn't corral one and deposit it in the back of the net. It didn't appear as if the missed chances would come to bite the Quakers until Franklin had a run with a little more than three minutes left. With the Franklin runner breaking away from Wilmington defenders she was able to beat a charging Taylor Franklin with a lob shot that bounced into the goal. It was the Grizzlies only shot of the half.

The Quakers outshot their visitors, 24-3, including 13-1 in the second half.

Sophomore Rachelle Bowen gave Wilmington an early lead with a goal in the 10th minutes. She made a move on the keeper and deposited an uncontested goal.

Franklin scored the equalizer on an indirect kick in the 43rd minute.

Wilmington (5-2-1) hosts Ohio Wesleyan 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Charlie Gilhart Field in non-conference action.
