Caporale nets school record as WLAX post first-ever victory

ROANOKE, VA – Freshman Jenni Caporale and sophomore Kiki Hall combined to score 12 of Wilmington's 15 goals as the Fightin' Quakers earned the first win in program history - beating Hollins 15-9 in non-conference action at Moody Field.

Caporale (Louisville, KY/Ballard) finished with a school record seven goals, while Hall (Westerville, OH/Central) tallied a career-high five goals. Hall got the scoring going less than two minutes into the game with an unassisted marker, and then Caparole tacked on two goals in an eight-second span two minutes later.

"We really worked together as a team and found our rhythm early on," said Wilmington head coach Brett Yenger. "Getting the lead immediately helped us settle down and play smart. Overall, it was a great game with everyone contributing."

Not only did Caporale and Hall get Wilmington going early, they helped the Fightin' Quakers slam the door as Hollins pulled to within two goals (10-8) with 20 minutes remaining. They duo combined to score all five WC goals as it tallied five of the final six markers of the game.

Senior Loryn Bryson (Carlisle, OH/Carlisle) added two goals and sophomore Nikki Northern (Dayton, OH/Chaminade Julienne) scored her first career goal.

Freshman Megan Wieloch (Canton, MI/Plymouth) and junior Katie Bennett (Newport, OH/Frontier) combined for six saves in 60 minutes of action.
