Men's XC finishes 13th at All-Ohio

CEDARVILLE – The Wilmington College men's cross country team finished 13th of 21 teams as the Fightin' Quakers competed in the All-Ohio Championships. The men's team finished seventh of 10 Ohio Athletic Conference schools.

"It was great to get a chance to run against all the other D3 schools and see where we stack up," said Wilmington head coach Ron Combs. "I was especially interested to compete with all the OAC schools. I thought the meet showed us we are a better team than we were last year on the girls side and we are close to where we were last year on the guys side. I am excited to see how we can improve in the next month before OAC's."

Senior Jake Simpkins (Germantown, OH/Valley View) was the first Wilmington harrier to finish the 8K course, running in a time of 27:50.93. Following Simpkins was sophomore Tommy Looby (Canton, OH/Glen Oak), who ran the course in 27:52.09.

Junior Dominic King (Bettsville, OH/Bettsville) was third Wilmington runner to finish with the time of 28:24.17, while freshman Hunter Stith (Batavia, OH/Batavia) was next 28:35.70. The final runner to score for the Fightin' Quakers was freshman Cameron Erwin (South Vienna, OH/Northeastern) with the time of 28:58.53.

Wilmington returns to action Friday, October 17 when its hosts the #JennaStrong Fall Classic.
