Erwin leads WC to third place finish

FRANKLIN, IN – Senior Alek Erwin kicked off the 2013 season much like he finished the 2012 season, leading the pack. 

Erwin (South Vienna, OH/Northeastern) finished third overall in the time of 16:05.14 as the Quakers were third in Franklin College's Sodexo Grizzly Invitational.

Wilmington finished with 65 points, just three points from leaders Vincennes and Spalding.

The trio of junior Jacob Simpkins (Germantown, OH/Valley View), senior Brad Kline(Circleville, OH/Circleville) and freshman Tommy Looby (Canton, OH/Glen Oak) finished in consecutive order, placing 13th, 14th and 15th, respectively. Simpkins finished in 17:37.74, Kline in 17:40.08 and Looby in 17:40.62. 

Junior Jacob Boehm (Martinsville, OH/McNicholas) was the last Wilmington placer, finishing 20th in the time of 17:40.62.

Wilmington returns to the course Saturday as they compete at the Hanover Invitational.
