Men's Track finishes eighth at All-Ohio

DELAWARE – The Wilmington College men's track team finished eighth at the 2015 All-Ohio Outdoor Track and Field Championships Saturday at Ohio Wesleyan University.

"Overall it was a good weekend, building toward the conference meet," said Wilmington head coach Ron Combs. "We show a lot of improvement today on both sides. Both teams finished in the top 10, which hasn't happened at this meet in a few years."

Senior Jake Sydnor (Owensville, OH/Clermont Northeastern) scored in three evens to lead the Fightin' Quakers. He was third in the 400 (48.6) and sixth in the 200 (22.8), and then teamed with senior Derek Kilgo (Charlotte, NC/North Royalton), senior Jake Simpkins (Germantown, OH/Valley View) and freshman Pierce Burnam (New Richmond, OH/New Richmond) to place third in the 4x400 (3:21.03).

All the members of the 4x400 team scored in their individual events as well. Kilgo was third in the 100 (11.01), Burnam seventh in the 400 hurdles (57.24) and Simpkins eighth in the 1500 (3:59.65).

Sophomore Zak Kruer (Miamisburg, OH/Miamisburg) was third in the pole vault (4.58) and junior Linden Ayoki (Cincinnati, OH/LaSalle) was seventh in the discus (41.79).

Wilmington returns to action Friday at the Centre Invitational in Danville, KY.
