John Carroll Men Lead After Day One of OAC Championships

AKRON, Ohio – Defending Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) champions John Carroll University lead the 2019 OAC Men's Swimming & Diving Championships after day one of competition at the University of Akron's Ocasek Natatorium.

The Blue Streaks have 257 points as a team while Ohio Northern University is the other school to tally over 200 points after day one. The University of Mount Union (169 points), Wilmington College (79 points) and Baldwin Wallace University (59 points) round out the team standings.

Both John Carroll relay squads set OAC records. Adam Lentz, Forrest Campbell, Jackson Cooper and Matthew Ramsey turned in a time of 1:22.02 in the 200-yard freestyle relay while Campbell, Mason Beck, Jackson and Ramsey finished the 400-yard medley relay with a mark of 3:19.78.

Ramsey also won the 50-yard freestyle with an OAC record mark of 20.47 seconds.

Nolan Huey of Ohio Northern won the 200-yard IM with a time of 1:51.98.

Day two of competition begins at 10 a.m. tomorrow (Friday).
