Austin Young

Austin Young enters his first season as an assistant coach with the Wilmington College men's lacrosse program in 2023.

A native of Mason and a graduate of Cincinnati Christian Hills Academy, Young a four-year member of the men's lacrosse program playing primarily as an attacker. He appeared in 48 career games with 41 starts having been a starter in his final three years wearing the Green & White. 

Young averaged nearly a goal per start, netting 40 for his career including 15 during his senior season in 2022. He also dished out 19 assists for a total of 59 career points. As a sophomore, Young was also part of a Wilmington team that opened the season with three consecutive victories - Bethany College (West Virginia), Anderson University (Indiana) and Earlham College - before the remainder of the season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since graduating with a degree in exercise science with an allied health concentration, Young has worked as a rehab aide at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. There, he assisted with acute care rehabilitation as well as speech and language pathologists. Young prepared for this opportunity by participating in WC's observation program program, at Mercy Health Fairfield Occupational Therapy, in the fall of 2021. While a student, he also coached with the Xenia Lightning at the junior varsity level.

Young resides in Wilmington.
