CINCINNATI - The Wilmington College men's basketball team allowed Transylvania to shoot 64 percent from the field in the second half, and the Fightin' Quakers fell 81-76 Sunday. The teams played just the second half of the game which was resumed from November 17.

Transylvania seized control of the game with a 16-1 run midway through the second half. The Pioneers turned an eight-point deficit into a seven-point lead during the five-minute stretch. Wilmington turned it over once and missed three free throws in the game-swinging part of the contest.

The WC deficit grew to as much as 10 before the Fightin' Quakers made on last spurt. Back-to-back three-pointers from Taylor Wellman (Norwood, OH/Norwood) and Klarke Ransome (Richwood, OH/North Union) has WC trailing by four. Then a basket by Malcolm Heard II (Wilmington, OH/Wilmington) pulled Wilmington to within two with 1:54 remaining.

Transy stems the tide with a basket, but two free throws by Ransome kept Wilmington down by two. With the Fightin' Quakers' defense humming, a three-pointer as the shot clock expired stymied the momentum and helped TU gain the victory.

Heard finished with 21 points and 11 rebounds for his second consecutive double-double, while Ransome added 12 points and team-high six assists. R.J. Leppert (Liberty Township, OH/Lakota East) finished with nine points and eight rebounds.

WIlmington (2-2) kicks off Ohio Athletic Conference action 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, hosting Muskingum at Fred Raizk Arena.
