Shadrach Brausch

Shadrach Brausch enters his first year as assistant athletic director for facilities & operations at Wilmington College in 2023-24.

The position, newly created within the athletics department to replace the former equipment manager position, serves as a liaison between WC's physical plant in serving the facility needs of the institution's 18 varsity athletic programs. Additionally, it serves on the athletics leadership team to ensure smooth game day management operations and other athletic department events throughout the year.

Brausch comes to Wilmington with a wide variety of skills and experiences having most recently served as a strength and conditioning intern at The Ohio State University. There, he worked primarily with the Buckeyes' fencing, swimming & diving and track & field teams. Brausch implemented strength training and return-to-play programs for student-athletes along with supporting the power & strength development and mobility training that led to top 15 finishes for both swimming & diving teams at the NCAA Division I Championships. He is certified by the National Strength & Conditioning Association.

Before Ohio State, Brausch was a non-traditional student at Wilmington, graduating in December of 2022 with a degree in exercise science. He appeared on the Dean's List three times and was an All-Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) selection as a heavyweight and member of the Quakers' wrestling program.

Before enrolling at WC, Brausch served nine years in the United States Marine Corps as a Staff Sergeant. He was a non-commissioned officer in charge of the powerline work center and supervised approximately 50 marines.

Brausch, a native of Wilmington and graduate of Wilmington High School, is pursuing a master of science degree in human performance from Liberty University. He resides in Wilmington with his wife and three children.
