Women's Cross Country places 10th in OACsOctober 29, 2016The Wilmington College women’s cross country team finished 10th in the 10-team Ohio Athletic Conference meet Saturday held on the Delaware campus of Columbus State University.

@DubC_XCTR Women show their strength at JennaStrongOctober 14, 2016WILMINGTON, Ohio- Not only sporting their typical green and white attire, the women’s cross country team took to the course Friday wearing purple ribbons to honor fallen teammate Jenna Parlette for the fourth annual JennaStrong Fall Classic. The meet drew in 38 teams and a number of individual, or unattached runners, including a number of Wilmington Cross Country alumni and friends. In total, the event fielded 366 female runners. The motto of the meet, “You run with your lets, win with your heart”, also Jenna’s life motto, could be witnessed in every single runner on the course as they pushed themselves to their limits to reach the finish line. Of the 38 competing teams, the Wilmington College women finished 36th with an average time of 23:37 for the 5k race.

Helmke paces @DubC_XCTR women in first home meet of the seasonOctober 07, 2016WILMINGTON, Ohio- On Friday, the Fightin’ Quakers were back in action in a dual meet against Thomas More College. This meet was their first meet on their home course this season. The women competed in a 2-mile race, significantly shorter than their lengthy 6k race the week before. Despite hard racing and good efforts, Wilmington finished second with 45 points, only 12 points behind Thomas More.

@DubC_XCTR sees a new distance at Louisville ClassicOctober 01, 2016LOUISVILLE, Kentucky- The Women’s Cross Country Team competed in a 6k Saturday at the Louisville Classic, their longest racing distance this season to date. The Quakers raced hard in the day’s ‘Silver’, Pre-National, race and finished 36th out of 39 competing teams. The team clocked in with an average time of 29:18.14.

Pride paces Quakers to eighth place finish at Cedarville Friendship Invitational @DubC_XCTRSeptember 17, 2016CEDARVILLE, Ohio- The Wilmington College Cross Country teams competed Saturday at Cedarville University’s Friendship Invitational. Injury and illness kept Wilmington from competing with a full field in either the Men’s or Women’s event. Even without a full roster, the men took eight out of the ten competing teams. The women, however, only fielded two runners, neither of whom scored for the Quakers.

Helmke finishes first in season-opening meet for @DubC_XCTRSeptember 02, 2016RICHMOND, Indiana- The Wilmington College Women’s Cross Country team started their season out with a bang on Friday’s Red Wolf Rumble hosted by Indiana University-East. Also in attendance at the meet were Earlham College and Cincinnati Christian University. The Fightin’ Quaker Women finished in a solid 3rd place behind Earlham and Indiana University-East.
