RICHMOND, Indiana- The Wilmington College Women's Cross Country team started their season out with a bang on Friday's Red Wolf Rumble hosted by Indiana University-East. Also in attendance at the meet were Earlham College and Cincinnati Christian University. The Fightin' Quaker Women finished in a solid 3rd place behind Earlham and Indiana University-East.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Freshman Allison Helmke (Defiance, OH/Tinora), led the pack in her first collegiate race finishing first in the 3k course with a time of 12:02.9.
- Earlham and Indiana University-East swept places 2-9, while Stephanie Fetters (West Milton, OH/Milton-Union), Wilmington's single senior runner, finished 10th with a time of 13:21.6. Freshman Kacey Burns (Milford Center, OH/Fairbanks) finished close behind, 11th, clocking in at 13:30.9.
- The young team continued to show its talent with Freshman Riley Claytor (Fayetteville, OH/Fayetteville-Perry) and Freshman Cheyenne Rhodes (Blanchester, OH/Blanchester) with them finishing 19th and 20th respectively.
