@DubC_Volleyball making strides

The Wilmington College volleyball team continues to show progress, however, it is simply not translating into wins. The Fightin' Quakers fell to Otterbein, 3-1 (25-12, 25-16, 19-25, 25-14), Tuesday in Ohio Athletic Conference action in Fred Raizk Arena at Hermann Court.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • It the first time since 2011 Wilmington has won a set from multiple Ohio Athletic Conference teams in the same season.
  • Freshman Amber Rox (Lawrenceburg, IN/Lawrenceburg) tabulated her fifth double-double of the season with 10 kills and 12 digs.
  • Senior Kara Short (Conover, OH/Fairlawn) distributed 21 assists with six digs and five kills. Freshman setter Alyssa McKenzie (Adrian, MI/Adrian) returned from an injury to record seven assists in limited action.
  • Freshman Morgan Householder (Somerset, OH/Sheridan) added eight digs and six kills, while sophomore Sydney Smith (Centerville, OH/Dayton Christian) added five kills.

Wilmington hosts a tri-match Saturday with Marietta and Ohio Christian.
