Women's Swimming in Fifth After First Full Day of OAC Championships

RESULTS AFTER DAY TWO

AKRON, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's swimming team competed on the first full day of the 2023 Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Swimming & Diving Championships hosted at the University of Akron's Ocasek Natatorium on Thursday.

After morning preliminaries, the Quakers opened the evening session with a fifth-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay as Sierra Szuhay, Sydney Overmyer, Makenna Garn and Audrey Bibb touched the wall in 1:47.22.

WC had two individuals place in the consolation final of the 200-yard IM. Szuhay swum a time of 2:22.10 to finish third while Alayna Fierman took seventh with a time of 2:30.25. In the 50-yard freestyle, Garn placed seventh in the consolation final of the 50-yard freestyle with a mark of 25.95 seconds.

The Quakers closed out the day with the team of Szuhay, Garn, Fierman and Audrey Bibb completing the 400-yard medley relay in 4:09.66.

After two days of competition, Wilmington is fifth with 94 points. Defending champions John Carroll University sits in first with 292 points.
