WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's swimming team defeated Manchester University 93-37 in a dual meet at the Wilmington Natatorium on Saturday afternoon.

Macki Leon and Margaret Hover won two events for the Fightin' Quakers. Leon triumphed in the 100-meter butterfly (1:12.95) and the 200-meter IM (2:36.44) while Hover won the 100-meter freestyle (1:04.24) and the 200-meter freestyle (2:21.43).

Hannah Davis won the 50-meter freestyle with a season-best time (29.57 seconds) while Ashley Carlson claimed the title in the 100-meter backstroke (1:16.76).

"Hannah Davis swam a season-best time during a difficult part of the season for sprinters," Head Women's Swimming Coach Trip Breen said. "Ashley Carlson has been working on some things in practice and they are starting to click for her."

Other individual events winners for Wilmington included Olivia Bender in the 800-meter freestyle (11:16.83) and Rebecca Curran in the 100-meter breaststroke (1:27.53).

Additionally, Shelby Kirby and Davis teamed up with Isak Alin and Logan Schroer of the men's team to win the 200-meter mixed relay in 2:12.06.

"Both teams continue to swim and train well despite being tired and sore at this part in the year," said Breen. "We are looking forward to competing at an invitational next weekend."

Wilmington heads to Ohio Wesleyan University for that invitational on Nov. 23-24.
