Vince Pickett is entering his second season as an Assistant Wrestling Coach at Wilmington College during the 2024-25 season.
Alongside head coach Chris Basford, Pickett coached the Quakers to their first dual victory since 2010 in a 27-26 criteria win over Muskingum University. Caleb Tackett placed in two tournaments for Wilmington, including a sixth place finish at 197 pounds in the NCAA Central Regionals tournament.
Pickett comes to Wilmington after spending seven seasons as an Assistant Wrestling Coach at Upper Arlington High School in Upper Arlington, Ohio from 2016-2022.
Pickett wrestled collegiately for four years at Edinboro University, which is an NCAA Division I wrestling school. He qualified for the NCAA National Championships as a junior in 2014-15, a year in which the Fighting Scots finished 3rd overall as a team at the National Championships. He finished his collegiate career with a 79-62 overall record.
He wrestled at Central Crossing High School for head coach Jamiez Ramirez, and finished with a 167-23 career record. As a senior, he finished second at the Division I state championships at 170 lbs., losing a 3-2 decision to Mark Martin of St. Edward in the finals. He ended his senior season with a 40-2 record, was the Hilliard Darby sectional champion and was named the Central Ohio Division I Wrestler of the Year. He was named a 2012 high school All-American by InterMat, ranking 18th at 170 lbs.
