James Rice began his tenure as an assistant baseball coach at Wilmington College in December of 2023. He enters his second season with the program in 2024-25.\
Alongside head coach, Barry Craddock, Wilmington finished 6-28 during Rice's first season in 2024. Rice helped guide one player to Honorable Mention All-OAC honors, two to OAC Baseball Athlete of the Week honors, and six to Academic All-OAC honors.
Rice comes to Wilmington after a five-year baseball career at Mount Aloysius College in Cresson, Pennsylvania. While he was at Mount Aloysius, Rice appeared in 59 career games for the Mounties, making 22 starts. He earned his bachelor's degree from Mount Aloysius in sports management and his master's degree in general business.
A native of Leechburg, Pennsylvania, Rice went to Greensburg Central Catholic High School. He was a three-sport athlete in high school, playing four years of baseball, basketball, and football.
