Sarah Murphy, Women's Track

The Wilmington College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee named women's track and field athlete Sarah Murphy as its Player of the Week, for the period ending February 1, 2015.

Murphy (West Liberty, OH/West Liberty Salem) set a school record, won two events and scored in six total events as the Fightin’ Quakers finished second in the five-team OAC South Split meet. Murphy established a new 55 hurdles record with a winning time of 8.74. She also won the 200 meter dash (26.83). Murphy finished second in the high jump (1.44 meters) and third in the long jump (4.9 meters). She was also on the 200 meter relay and 400 meter relay that finished second.

In recognition of her accomplishments, she will receive a T-shirt from SAAC, and her photo and list of accomplishments will be displayed in the lobby of Hermann Court.

The Student Athlete Advisory Committee is a committee made up of student-athletes assembled to provide insight about the student-athlete experience. SAAC protects student-athlete interests and provides a positive image of student-athletes.
