Stahl Wins Steeplechase for Women's Track & Field at Wittenberg

RESULTS

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – Kendra Stahl highlighted the Wilmington College women's track & field team's performance at the Wittenberg Invitational by winning the 3,000-meter steeplechase on Friday afternoon.

The freshman from New Washington, Ohio, ran a time of 14:27.82 in the event to give the Fightin' Quakers 10 points. Wilmington finished in fifth with 29.5 points. The University of Mount Union won the meet with 217 points.

Both Emma Burke and Brooke Gibbons earned sixth-place finishes in the 100-meter hurdles and 800-meter run respectively. Burke finished with a time of 16.76 seconds while Gibbons ran a 2:35.55. Additionally, the Quakers' 4-x-100-meter relay squad of Miranda Gibson, Amber LaRotonda, Keva Cox and Abby Spirk ran a mark of 56.72 seconds and placed fifth.

In field events, Cox finished with a season-best mark of 4' 9 ¾" to finish in a tie for second place. Tiffany Snider also scored points in the event, finishing in a tie for sixth (4' 6").

Wilmington will head to the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Outdoor Championships hosted by Otterbein University next weekend.
