WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College wrestling team competes one more time in the 2022 calendar year on Sunday with a dual at Ohio Wesleyan University. Matches are slated to begin at 2 p.m.
The Teams: Wilmington and Ohio Wesleyan (OWU). The Quakers are in search of their first dual meet victory of the season having most recently fallen 40-12 at Defiance College on Thursday. The Battling Bishops are looking to improve upon a ninth-place finish at the 13-team Ohio Northern University Invitational last Saturday.
The Coaches: Chris Basford enters his first year as WC's head wrestling coach in 2022-23. Basford has experience coaching at multiple institutions including Limestone College (South Carolina), Maryville Univerity (St. Louis) and the University of Nebraska-Omaha. Most recently, he led Limestone to a 10-4 mark as interim coach in 2021-22. Paul Reid is in his fifth season as OWU's head wrestling coach.
