Hobbs and Tackett Place for Wrestling at NCAA Division III Central Region Championships

FINAL RESULTS

ADRIAN, Michigan - Caleb Tackett and Alex Hobbs placed fifth and eighth respectively to round out the Wilmington College wrestling team's performance at the NCAA Division III Central Region Championships hosted by Adrian College on Saturday.

Tackett took fifth in the 197-pound weight class while Hobbs placed eighth in the 174-pound weight class. As a team, the Fightin' Quakers placed 13th-of-20 teams with 31 points. Wabash College won the regional with 168.5 points while fellow Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) member Baldwin Wallace University claimed runner-up honors with 145.5 points. 

In the 174-pound weight class, Hobbs opened the second day by falling to Owen Guilford of Olivet College via pin in 3:54. In the seventh-eighth place match, TJ Rhamy of Heidelberg University won via a medical forfeit from Hobbs.

In the 197-pound weight class, Tackett pinned Noah Dehainaunt of Muskingum University in 1:49 before falling to Cash Thompson of Ohio Northern University via fall (0:46) in the consolation semifinals. Tackett rebounded to win the fifth-place match via fall (3:51) over Jesse Kanatzar of John Carroll University.
