WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College women's basketball team begins the second half of Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play by hosting No. 12 Baldwin Wallace University on Saturday. Tip-off from Fred Raizk Arena is scheduled for 4 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Baldwin Wallace (BW). The Quakers bring a 10-6 overall record including a 4-5 OAC mark to the contest having most recently fallen 68-62 at Otterbein University on Wednesday. The Yellow Jackets are 15-1 overall and 8-1 in conference games to date. BW most recently dispatched John Carroll University 81-60 at home on Wednesday. 

The Coaches: Wilmington is under the direction of third-year Head Coach Janel Blankespoor, who is in her fourth season with the program having been interim coach during the 2020-21 season and the program's top assistant the two years prior. The 2007 Otterbein College alumna spent stints at Mount Union and Earlham College before coming to Wilmington. Cheri Harrer, the veteran amongst OAC coaches, is in her 33rd season as BW's head coach. She's led the Yellow Jackets to over 600 victories and 16 appearances in the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament.

The Players: A trio of Quakers - Kennedy Lewis, Jada Pohlen and Marisa Seiler - average over 8.5 points per game with Lewis leading the way at 13.1 points per contest. Lewis and Seiler combine for nearly a dozen rebounds a game while Pohlen is the team's top three-point shooter at 34.7 percent. Lewis assists on 3.1 baskets a contest while Cassidy Lovett leads the OAC in steals at 2.3 per game. The Yellow Jackets featured a balanced scoring attack as Emily Irwin, Bella Vaillant, Caely Ressler and Megan Hensel score at least eight points per game. Vaillant and Ressler both grab over 6.5 rebounds per contest. 

Tale of the Tape: Points per game – Wilmington 61.7, BW 66.8; opponents' points per game – Wilmington 57.6, BW 52.3; field goal percentage – Wilmington 36.2, BW 40.0; three-point percentage – Wilmington 25.1, BW 32.2; free throw percentage – Wilmington 80.9, BW 71.3; rebounding margin – Wilmington +2.1, BW +4.3; assist-to-turnover ratio – Wilmington 0.69, BW 0.73.
